What if?
Updated: May 11, 2022
This post is based on a recurring thought. More questions.
Where would we be as a society? IF misogyny did not rule the treatment of women.
One shift, I discussed this with a stand-up work colleague and since that conversation with him – it has been a recurring thought. I believe the futures we saw depicted in the film ‘back to the future’ would be a reality. It is 2021 – where are the flying cars? We do have flying machines…
I name this post ‘What if?’ because it is a question that I get asked too many times to count.
What if you did not do that?
What if you did not say that?
What if you explode again?
What if you do it this way?
What if you think more?
What if the worst happens?
^some variations of questions that are consistently put to me. I am sure I am not the only one who has been asked these questions – we all have our own problems, yet we fail to recognise that in other people.
To those who have read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee – or even those who have not read the book (I thoroughly recommend – skip the first section on first reading).
To quote Atticus Finch: “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”
‘Not shoes but skin. SKIN’ – a point my GCSE English teacher Miss Stevens made...
Have a ponder and spark conversations is how I will leave this post.
